Phoning in the Sun can be expensive
With an article that appeared on The Express website showing that Britons no longer have to worry about paying huge roaming charges when using their phones abroad, going on holiday to the rest of Europe has never been easier or cheaper.
If you do use your phone a lot whilst away, either to share photos or text and call people back home, then it is still worth investigating the roaming plans that are available online. Now that the charges have bee reduced many companies are competing hard for custom and you can find even cheaper prices if you spend a little time looking. If only I had taken my own advice when I went to Portugal last year.
Portugal is one of the most beautiful and underrated countries in Europe with the swell of the Atlantic melding into the calmness of the Mediterranean. It has many sights to behold and whilst I was staying in Lagos there was so much to see and do that I was taking a picture every five minutes. The only trouble was that I was uploading a picture every ten minutes to share on with people back home not realising that I was about to receive a nasty shock at the end of the month when my phone bill came in.
I know it sounds like I’m banging a kettle drum here, but before you go on holiday this year, make sure you are fully aware of how much your phone is going to cost you abroad. I didn’t check properly last year and I paid the price dearly.
