Transport in Goa

For a tourist it is always a good thing to know the transportation specification of the destination he is travelling to. Goa, in contrast with many other Indian states, is a place that is connected by well maintained and large road net. The different services for international and national travels are quite satisfactory and will not disappoint the tourists that are to arrive in the region for the first time. It also makes it easier to visit places such as Anjuna Flea Market, where they sell gold and orange fabrics, embroidered goods, crystals and jewelry.

The international Goa airport, called Dabolim, services the international and national flights to and from the state and is being also used as a military airport. Significant part of the tourists in the state arrive exactly at that airport. The major countries that have direct flights to Goa are Britain, Russia and Germany since the biggest flow of tourists is from these countries. On the other hand, Goa is well connected with the other Middle East countries so basically, travelling to that place is not a problem at all for the tourists.

As mentioned above, Goa is well connected with roads and this is quite useful when it comes to using the public transport. There are several main private bus line owners that provide satisfactory services and cover almost the whole of Goa. The train line are with limited destinations, but considering the small area of the state and the quick and efficient bus transport, that is also offered by public authorities, bus transportation is satisfactory enough. The prices are also quite reasonable and a person would not spend too much and travel too much within the state.

The taxis and the rickshaws, as well as the unique for Goa bike taxis, are always available and the price is done by negotiations. Thus a tourist can get a good deal even for a nice trip with the taxi without spending too much on travelling.
